Sophie Fesser

They/Them/Theirs

Sophie works with both adult and adolescent (12 and older) clients. As a queer non-binary provider, they are passionate about providing culturally-competent care to the LGBTQ+ community.

Sophie believes that the relationship between client and practitioner is of the utmost importance. They strive to create an environment where clients feel safe to explore their truest selves. Sophie prioritizes building rapport with their clients through humor, gentleness, and authenticity. They strongly believe that a client’s stories have the power to illuminate their unique path toward growth and healing.

Everybody’s story is shaped by the world around them, and Sophie understands that the way society is structured leaves many clients isolated and marginalized. This is why Sophie works to understand individuals’ struggles within the context of the different systems surrounding them. Drawing from abolitionist and liberationist philosophies, Sophie knows that our collective healing begins with the individual.

Sophie is a Clinical Social Work intern working under the licensed supervision of Jillian Chmiel MSW, LICSW. Sophie has experience working with the LGBTQ+ community, specifically the transgender community, as well as experience working in reproductive and sexual healthcare. They utilize multiple therapeutic modalities including Narrative Therapy and The Strengths-Based Perspective.
