Kera Adeola
she/her/hers
Kera utilizes an attachment-based and emotionally-focused approach to help clients improve their relationship with self and others. She strongly believes that there is no “one size fits all” approach to counseling and strives to create an environment that is non-judgmental, culturally responsive, anti-oppressive, anti-racist, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and sex positive. Kera draws from psychodynamic, ACT, EFT, strengths-based, sand tray therapy, and motivational interviewing approaches in her work with clients.
Kera has experience working with anxiety, relational distress, OCD, depression, substance use, boundaries and assertiveness training, life transitions, adult children of alcoholics/addicts, family of origin concerns, and childhood trauma. She is passionate about working with teenagers, young adults, and neurodivergent folks. Kera was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD late in life and understands how inaccessible the world can be for the neurodivergent community. She prioritizes creating a space where clients can explore their authentic selves and sensory needs without fear of rejection. She is trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy and enjoys working with couples who would like to improve emotional safety in their relationship.
Kera has worked in a variety of settings including intensive outpatient for substance use and mental health, in-home therapy, college counseling center, and outpatient mental health services. She is licensed by the MN Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC).
