“Instead of judging people by their past, stand by them and help them repair their future.” -Unknown-
As a counseling practitioner, Erika believes there are no “one-size fits all” treatments when it comes to mental wellness and is keenly aware of the stigma associated with mental illness, in particular within diverse communities. In her practice, she seeks to create a safe, non-judgmental environment in which her clients can explore their thoughts and feelings – allowing them the freedom to be themselves. Erika’s compassion, patience, and empathic listening style, assist her in guiding and educating her clients on their journey of empowerment, reconnection and restoration of balance in their lives.
Erika is passionate about utilizing an integrative holistic approach toward psychotherapy. This approach encompasses the needs of the whole person, not just presenting behaviors or symptoms. This approach is achieved by incorporating various psychotherapies, neuroscience, nutrition, exercise and mindfulness therapy.
Erika’s Areas of Clinical Interest are depression, anxiety, trauma, life transition, parenting conflicts, and relationship issues. Additionally she has certificates and training in Psychological First Aid/ Trauma Counseling and Health Coaching.
Erika is under the supervision of Ann Kellogg, MA, LPCC while she pursues clinical licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
