She has experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness and housing stability, substance use concerns, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, chronic and terminal health diagnoses, grief and loss, secondary trauma, justice involvement and life transitions.

Emily’s therapeutic practice is anchored in Radical Acceptance, Harm Reduction, Allyship, and the belief that given the time, resources, support and opportunity, all individuals have the ability to heal. Emily’s style has been described as safe, authentic, real, non judgemental, straightforward, empathic and fun.

Therapeutic modalities most commonly used in Emily’s work are: Solution-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, Psychodynamic, Feminist, Humanistic, Attachment and Narrative. Creating a safe and welcoming space, that is trauma-informed and non-judgemental, is important in developing a therapeutic alliance in which the hard and important work can be done.
