Shannon Murphy
She/Her/Hers
Now Accepting New Clients
Shannon brings warmth, curiosity, and a belief in every person’s ability to grow and heal into the therapy room. She is passionate about working with children, teens, and young adults who are facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, school stress, grief, life transitions, and relationship difficulties.
Shannon is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with 5+ years working in a school setting. She understands the pressures that young people face both inside and outside of the classroom and strives to always create a safe space where clients can feel seen, supported, and empowered. Additionally, Shannon has worked as a therapist in an intensive outpatient program, providing support to young clients and their families navigating a wide variety of mental health diagnoses.
Working from a trauma-informed and strengths-based lens, Shannon draws from a variety of therapeutic approaches such as EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), play therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, exposure and response prevention, and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
In her free time, Shannon enjoys exploring the Twin Cities, discovering local coffee shops, spending time in nature, listening to live music, and hanging out with her pets (two cats, Emmylou and Hank, and one dog, Stevie).
