Mikki is an IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) & Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher ( E-RYT 500) with over 24 years of experience studying and practicing yoga and over 15 years working in mental health. She understands how much the body, breath, emotions, and behaviors connect and can affect each other. Connection is vital to healing and essential to bringing unison to these areas. Mikki will help you build these skills by combining aspects of yoga therapy and psychotherapy. This moves you from feeling overwhelmed, anxious, in pain, distracted, and other mental and physical symptoms to a state of well-being where you can be in the driver’s seat and sustainably navigate your growth and future. Mikki believes our relationship is essential to progress and prioritizes creating a non-judgmental, safe space with assurance, empowerment, and humor as needed for therapy. Mikki brings her life experiences to support cultural identities, neurodivergent populations, and life transitions. She has experience working with the LGBTQIA and is affirming.
Mikki has worked in the mental health field for 12 years at a sizable multilevel eating disorder treatment center and the past 3 years at LynLake. Her focus is helping those with anxiety, depression, stress, pain, trauma, disordered eating, grief & loss, relationship issues, and substance abuse. Mikki has created the Mind Body program and Post Meal Mindful Movement Protocol to help clients develop skills to manage their stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma response for the patients at the treatment center. She also has experience leading groups for those with co-occurring eating and substance use disorders. She has experience and a particular interest in education and public speaking, where she used the tools of yoga to help clients. Mikki enjoys nature or trying something new when I'm not spending time with my family and our dog. She relishes taking walks, hiking, boating, traveling, painting, and obviously yoga.
Mikki is working under the licensed supervision of Corinne Nechalova, LPCC, E-CYT 500, while completing her graduate internship program to become a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) through Saint Mary’s University.
