Lauren Stevens
She/Her/Hers
NOW ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS
Lauren is a pre-licensed practitioner who offers therapy that centers the client and their struggles, while also creating a safe and supportive environment. Lauren recognizes that life’s difficulties are complex and she accepts the responsibility of remaining open-minded and gaining an understanding of cultures and identities that she may be uninformed about. She believes that walking with clients through self-exploration using humor and authenticity will kickstart a journey of healing within the therapeutic space and beyond. She utilizes a psychodynamic approach with a narrative perspective so that clients feel empowered to rewrite their understanding of experiences and trauma they may be facing.
Lauren finds joy in working with adults with ADHD, whether they received their diagnosis in childhood or adulthood. With personal experience having a missed ADHD diagnosis, Lauren can empathize deeply with those who also received a diagnosis later in life. Lauren also has prior experience in the sexual health field, which sparked an ever-growing passion for working with individuals struggling with sexual health concerns, sexuality and gender identity, sexual trauma, and how these issues interact with relationships. In addition to these stresses, Lauren works with individuals needing support with body image, life transitions, and development into young adulthood.
Lauren holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota, and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Psychological Services from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. She is currently practicing under the supervision of Ann Kellogg, MS, LPCC and is on track to become a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
