Karen leads with compassion and an appreciation for people’s uniqueness. Her primary goal is to assist you in increasing your self-awareness, self-compassion and self-confidence. She will partner with you and provide a safe space for you to do this work, to heal, and to recover.
Karen provides services for adults and adolescents who are experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, and adjustment disorders. She is passionate about working with people to help them reduce their experience of symptoms so that they can focus on enjoying their daily life. Karen has a BA in Child Psychology from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities and a MA in Counseling and Psychological Services from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. She is trained in Level 1 and 2 Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and EMDR through EMDRIA. She is currently working towards EMDRIA certification.
Karen sees nature as an integral part of the healing process. She has a passion for supporting people in finding their place and healing in nature, specifically through sit spotting and the use of therapy skills outdoors.
When she is not in the office, Karen enjoys spending time with her loves, her people, pets, and plants:). She is an avid gardener and spends a great deal of time creating native habitat in her own yard for all to enjoy. Karen has a deep love for the Northwoods, camping, and learning about native plants and wildlife.
