Joy practices from a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and client-centered approach with people of all ages, primarily adults. She has experience in working with individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds, in terms of race, ethnicity, gender, and sexual identity, religion, etc., and in outpatient and inpatient settings with a focus on co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Her clinical interests include mood disorders, substance use disorders/addiction, trauma/PTSD, racial/cultural identity exploration, life stage transition, grief and loss, and faith and spirituality.
