Jenna brings a calm presence to the therapy setting; providing a place to be heard, challenged, and supported. She also believes that humor and laughter are integral parts of the therapeutic relationship. Jenna approaches therapy from a systems perspective, recognizing that each individual’s experience and environment impact their wellbeing. Jenna is a trauma-informed therapist, utilizing Somatic Experiencing (SE) therapy. SE approaches trauma work from a body/nervous system perspective, focusing on how trauma lives in the body. Jenna has a special interest in the LGBTQ+ community as well as folks with neurodiversity. She is fat positive, sex positive, and works with individuals and couples.
Jenna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and clinical social work supervisor. Jenna has a Masters in Social Work as well as her bachelor’s in Family Social Science, both from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She began her career in a day treatment program for children, working with families and children of a variety of ages. She has previous training in Play Therapy and TF-CBT. Jenna enjoys working in outpatient therapy, as it has allowed her to deepen her trauma-informed care with SE, as well as develop longer lasting relationships with clients.
When she is not working, Jenna enjoys spending time with her two cats, family, and friends. She takes advantage of the Minnesota summers with biking, kayaking, hiking, and camping. Jenna also spends time reading, cooking, and going to concerts whenever she gets the chance.
