Jamie Hermes
She/Her/Hers
Jamie provides individual counseling to adults of all ages. With an encouraging and flexible style, she aims to help clients develop healthy coping mechanisms, enhance self-image and confidence, overcome triggers, make healthy decisions, and improve overall well-being. Jamie often uses humor, because humor can be healing.
She guides clients through life challenges like education and career decisions, stress, burnout, relationships, life transitions, and loss/grief. With experience in supporting issues including depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, substance abuse, and neurodiversity, Jamie is also a supportive ally for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Jamie uses evidence-based practices and customizes therapeutic models for each client. For instance, she applies Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to identify and change unhelpful thought patterns, integrates mindfulness techniques for better emotional coping in the present moment, and employs Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to assist clients in setting and achieving meaningful goals.
Jamie is working under the licensed supervision of Erica Johnson, MA, LPCC, while pursuing clinical licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
