Haoran has worked as a high school counselor in both China and the United States and has spent the past three years supporting individuals and families from underprivileged communities. He adopts a developmental perspective to understand how environmental factors interact with clients’ individual traits, leading to the challenges they currently face. With a deep, enduring interest in trauma, he believes that resilience and growth are also attainable for anyone willing to face their challenges. Haoran welcomes individuals, couples, and families seeking to make meaningful changes in their lives.
Haoran has training in Humanistic therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy, and Internal Family Systems Therapy. Rather than adhering strictly to any single therapeutic orientations, he integrates techniques from various models to help clients better understand their concerns and reclaim a sense of purpose and vitality.
Haoran is currently under the licensed supervision of LynAnne Evenson, LMFT, LADC, ECSP, as he works toward clinical licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He is also pursuing his doctorate in Couple and Family Therapy at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
