Evan Tharaldson

Evan is a psychotherapist with close to a decade of experience working with individuals with substance use and mental health issues. He has a passion for and history of working in cis men's group settings to explore trauma, gender identity, masculinity, and other men's issues. Evan is passionate in working with male-identifying clients struggling with these issues, and also has an interest in working with any clients struggling with grief/loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, and cancer diagnoses. Also, with his background in addiction counseling, he is confident in his ability to help efforts to explore and/or achieve sobriety.
Evan utilizes an approach grounded in culturally responsive care, attachment theory, and relationally-focused interventions. He strongly believes in the importance of the connection between oneself and the world around them. Evan is a trauma-informed therapist who wants to support clients to be their most authentic selves.
Evan resides in the Twin Cities and enjoys working in the community he has called home all his life. He enjoys reading, cooking, bike riding, and spending time with his two cats, Omelette and Olivia.
Evan is working under the licensed supervision of Emily Schmidt, MSW, LICSW, LADC while he pursues clinical licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker.
