NOW ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS!
Amili (pronounced “ama-lee”) is a graduate of St. Catherine University’s Master of Social Work program with five years of experience in clinical and community-based service settings. Amili is a queer-identified, pre-licensed therapist, who practices from a feminist, anti-oppressive, relational, holistic perspective.
Amili has worked with diverse populations, including highly mobile youth and young adults, refugees and their families, individuals with co-occurring disorders, cancer patients and caregivers, and LGBTQIA-2S folks. She has experience supporting clients through grief and ambiguous loss, queer identity exploration, addiction, anxiety, ADHD, depression, trauma, relationship dynamics, self-esteem and body image struggles, life transitions, and stress.
Amili employs a deeply compassionate, trauma-informed, non-judgmental approach to work with clients, inspired by integrative mindfulness and rooted in cultural humility. She prioritizes the use of Mindfulness-Based Interventions (MBIs), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in her therapeutic work. Amili aims to enhance clients’ mind-body awareness and help clients embrace everyday dualities to foster resilience. With an integrative approach to care, she considers the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit in overall well-being, while using a systemic perspective to understand and address the broader contexts of clients’ lives. She believes in the power of community and human connection, by creating safe and supportive environments for clients to be seen, heard, and ultimately, to heal.
Amili is working under the licensed supervision of Amy Mellum, MSW, LICSW while she pursues clinical licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
