This workshop combines didactic content with experiential activities to enhance your work with couples/relationships. The presenters bring many years of specialization in the couples/relationship arena, and participants will leave the workshop equipped to elevate their practice with practical tools that can be implemented immediately. Participants will gain both competence and confidence in their couple’s work.
Objectives
Participants will learn the basics of HIPAA compliance and ethical engagement in couples’ work.
- When Couples’/Relationship therapy is not indicated.
- Participants will be able to diagnose relational patterns that drive client struggles.
- Participants will be able to identify Gottman’s Four Horsemen.
- Participants will demonstrate the ability to “Join with the Truth”.
- Participants will illustrate the ability to “Choose sides” in couples’ work.
- Participants will be able to distinguish the Wounded Child, Adaptive Child, and Wise Adult in clients and utilize parts-work to facilitate client transformation.
- Participants will demonstrate how to give “Effective Feedback” in relationship/couple’s therapy.
This training will be virtual and recorded. It is approved for 2 CEUs by the following boards: Social Work, Psychology, MFT, and Behavioral Health and Therapy.
