Leah Bonine

She/Her/Hers

Leah Bonine is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) dedicated to serving the LGBTQ+ community, creatives, and individuals with disabilities or chronic health conditions. She is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for her clients, focusing on trauma recovery, hope, and resilience. Leah employs an attachment-based, person-centered, and relational approach, combining directness with empathy. She is trauma-informed, sex-positive, body-positive, and approaches her work with authenticity and passion. Her therapeutic practice incorporates various modalities tailored to clients' unique needs, including AIR Network, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Leah recognizes that there is no one-size-fits-all method and values the expertise of her clients in their own healing journeys. Her personal experience navigating both sides of the therapeutic process informs her approach and deepens her understanding. She often reflects on the saying, “at least the trauma made me funny,” as a reminder of resilience. Leah is a dedicated advocate for transgender and non-binary individuals and enjoys supporting clients in exploring their identities and discovering joy during challenging times. Additionally, she is a jewelry designer, upcycler, and artist, and has participated in art fairs with her mother for most of her life.
