Erin Appel

She/Her/Hers

Does it feel like there is a battle in your mind? Do you struggle with negative self talk, rumination, or worry that gets in the way of the life you want? Therapy can be a way to change your relationship with your own mind and become better friends with yourself, freeing up that emotional energy for the activities that are important to you. Now, more than ever, we need the tools to regulate our own nervous system so we can continue to work towards a better world.

If previous therapy hasn’t brought you where you want to be and you need a goal-directed approach, Erin might be a good fit. She can provide an unstructured talk therapy informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness. She is also trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention therapy (ERP) for OCD, Inference-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) for OCD, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD.

Erin provides individual therapy to female, male, and non-binary clients age 18 and up. She has a special interest in serving the following: health care providers (including medical, mental health, alternative medicine, and veterinary providers), the LGBTQIA+ community, artists/performers, teachers, people pleasers, caretakers, perfectionists, meditators, and individuals working through spiritual or religious crises.

In her free time, Erin enjoys the arts, comedy, reading, nerdy podcasts, puppy videos, resisting facism, and Broadway musicals.
