Dani Thao
She/Her/Hers
Dani (she/her/hers) grew up as the fourth of six siblings in an Asian immigrant family, where cultural expectations and family dynamics were ever-present. As someone who has often felt like the "black sheep" in her own family, Dani understands the complexities of identity, belonging, and the challenges of navigating life’s transitions. It’s this experience that led her to pursue a career in therapy, with a mission to help others feel seen, heard, and understood.
Dani is passionate about working with individuals, couples, and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. She believes in the importance of integrating mental health into the unique fabric of each person’s life without trying to change their core essence. Her approach focuses on what's current in the individual’s journey, guiding them toward healing and wholeness with compassion and respect for their identity.
Dani is interested in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Her goal is to empower her clients to embrace their strengths, overcome challenges, and move forward with confidence and clarity.
