Dara works with adult clients of all backgrounds and communities to assist individuals in their personal journey as they foster growth and healing within themselves. Dara utilizes various holistic wellness techniques such as mindfulness, meditation within sessions to promote inner peace and understand yourself on a deeper level.
Dara uses an integrative therapy model bringing multiple modalities into sessions such as: person-centered, emotion-focused, motivational interviewing and behavior-based therapies. These approaches help Dara and clients to dive deeper into family systems, internal family systems, historical and childhood trauma and make connections to present day and time.
Dara has a special interest in working with clients of diverse backgrounds and immigrant communities. As an immigrant herself, Dara was born in Nigeria and immigrated to the United States. Dara believes strongly in the importance of social justice and is an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community. She considers herself an advocate for underprivileged voices, as well as an ally to those who have experienced domestic violence and abuse.
Dara is working under the licensed supervision of Paige Love MSW, LICSW while she completes her graduate internship program. Dara is pursuing a Master of Social Work degree and a Master of Holistic Health Studies degree from St. Catherine’s University.
