Caressa is a psychotherapist who believes in the power of human connection and the ability to grow and learn at any stage in life. She offers individual therapy to children, adolescents, and young adults with a special interest in identity exploration, self-injurious behaviors, and depression. Caressa works from a psychodynamic lens in which she aims to help clients understand their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a way that makes sense to them.
She utilizes authenticity and humor in the counseling relationship, providing a safe space for unconstricted self-expression. Caressa believes in the capability of the human mind and that all individuals, with support, possess the potential to create a life worth living. Caressa is passionate about working with individuals to explore their sense of self and their relationship with various parts of their world. She takes a non-judgemental, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and LGBTQIA+-affirming approach to therapy. Caressa values the comfort and safety of her clients and employs a standard of meeting her clients where they are currently at. She feels that an individual's feelings and experiences are valid and that all individuals deserve to be heard.
Caressa is enthusiastic about doing the things that feel good on the body, mind, and soul. In her free time, Caressa enjoys time up north at the cabin, walks around the lake(s), watching cringey reality TV, and hanging with her cat. Caressa is working under the licensed supervision of Kera Adeola, MA, LPCC, LADC while she pursues clinical licensure as a Professional Clinical Counselor. She holds a BS in Psychology and Public Health from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and a MA in Counseling and Psychological Services from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota.
