Not Accepting New Clients
Maggie feels truly honored to be a part of the healing journey of her clients. She offers a warm and comfortable space for clients to process and reflect, and to make connections between their thoughts and feelings, past and present. She uses a relational approach to connect with clients, and supports them in identifying their current challenges and goals for therapy. She believes it is important to honor the life experiences of each of her clients, and recognizes their individual culture, traditions, and values.
Maggie works directly with adults, couples and families. Although she is a generalist, she has a special interest in supporting clients through complex family dynamics including relational trauma and parenting challenges. She has advanced training working with members of the adoption and foster/kinship care constellation (PACC - Permanency and Adoption Competency Certified). She uses an attachment lens to support adults navigating complex family of origin issues and developmental trauma. She is strengths-based and trauma-informed. Maggie uses a psychodynamic approach, and borrows from Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and other modalities. She has completed Levels 1 and 2 of Gottman training for couples. She is also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy) from an EMDRIA approved training program. She is a lifelong learner and loves finding new ways to support clients through new research and innovations in the field.
Maggie believes that systemic factors like racism and historical trauma have a significant impact on the health of many in our community, and it is her goal to have an anti-racist and anti-oppressive practice, grounded in a lens of cultural humility. She is LGBTQ+ allied and strives to create an open environment for all clients and communities. Maggie has a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Social Work and Masters in Public Policy. She is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and a Certified Parent Coach.
