Lorie connects with clients in a warm, supportive way while working to overcome life’s obstacles through strengths-based relational approach. She believes it is important for clients to feel comfortable and at ease as they discuss the difficult issues they are dealing with. Lorie creates this space with a balance of warmth and support alongside opportunities for change and growth. These elements together produce positive therapeutic progress.
Lorie is passionate about supporting clients as they dig into complex issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, family conflict, spirituality, racism, impulse control issues and more. She has had the distinct privilege of working in a wide variety of settings where she has witnessed the consistent benefits of empowering individuals and families. Lorie has observed people’s lives be transformed when they have the time and resources to spend focused energy digging into the deeper issues in their lives. She is committed to using a lens of cultural humility and believes that it is crucial for her clients to feel supported discussing the complexities of race, power, and privilege during their work together.
Lorie has advanced training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT; for both individual and group) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR; an evidence-based treatment modality for trauma). She sees primarily adult individual clients and looks forward to meeting with you.
