Not accepting clients
Leah brings curiosity, humor, honesty, and genuine empathy to any person, couple, or family who wants to create something different in their life. Leah defines herself as a relational therapist, which means she believes people are influenced and shaped by the world, and culture(s) around them. Leah approaches this work from a social justice lens, and loves working with people who are ready to address the many variables that impact their feelings, responses and patterns. Leah specializes in supporting individuals, couples, and families whose struggles are complicated by trauma, challenging upbringings, and/or chemical use issues.
When asked about her approach to therapy, Leah said “I believe my job as a therapist is to help you navigate life’s challenges, understand how prior stressors impact you, and help you to confidently chart a path forward. If you want to do some exploring, with a navigator committed to understanding and supporting you/your relationship/your family, I might be a good fit for your therapy journey.”
When asked what a client should know about her, Leah said “I’m a self-proclaimed weirdo/nerd, and enjoy working with folx who may also feel, or have felt, like they don’t fit into the world around them. I use lots of analogies that can make things easier to understand throughout the process. I can bring my love for books, music, art, pop culture, yoga, travel, theatre, fashion, and sports to how we do the work. I’m not afraid of hard conversations, believe there are no taboo topics, and welcome all the feelings. I pride myself on bringing curiosity, humor, honesty (and probably a few four-letter words) to sessions.”
Leah prides herself on bringing humanity to the therapy process. She said “I bring my full self to this work, and offer my enthusiasm and care to anyone looking to make a change in their life.”
