Jessica Brisbois
She/Her/Hers
Jessica’s therapeutic approach is to individualize therapy for each person as much as possible. This means taking time to get to know and understand the person as a whole as well as creating a place that the person can feel comfortable sharing themselves as a whole. Jessica prioritizes working collaboratively to determine what this process looks like and what they hope to achieve through therapy. Guidance and direct feedback are important for healing and growth, alongside compassion, empathy and understanding. Jessica’s goal is to empower each individual she works with to make changes in their life for the better and learn how to continue to make changes that lead to fulfillment. Jessica enjoys learning about the particular qualities and uniqueness of each individual and how this has shaped their life.
Jessica has a bachelor of science in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and a Master of Social Work from Augsburg College. Jessica completed post graduate training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy through the Minnesota Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. Jessica has also completed basic level training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy. Jessica’s prior experience includes working in hospitals, day treatment settings and providing in-home services to children and families.
Jessica is LGBTQIA+ affirming, racial justice allied, sex-positive and strives to be an advocate for marginalized identities.
