Matt Bander
He/Him/His
Matt brings curiosity, openness, humor. He focuses on creating (not finding) meaning, using stories and narratives to build the world you want, increasing awareness of the body and what it’s communicating, and finding ease and presence in the day to day.
Matt works with transitions, grief, couples and families, and those who are not sure where to step next. Wherever you are on your journey, it is important to provide you with the tools you need to have agency. Matt is interested in working with individuals, couples, and families. He approaches meaning from an existential perspective and relationships from a person centered perspective. Matt likes to incorporate ideas from family systems therapy and would love to put you in contact with your younger selves.
A good therapeutic fit should feel like a skipping rock with a notch for your finger. Matt appreciates clients who want to collaborate rather than be told what to do. There is value in the primal and authentic as there is value in the well carved, let’s find it in both, together. Consciousness is a thick overgrown path with twists and turns, dead ends and false summits. Matt is not sure where your destination lies but would love to walk beside you through it.
Matt is working under the supervision of Christina Jobelius LMFT while pursuing his degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Matt is available at the Lakeside Center and via telehealth. Matt uses He/Him pronouns.
