Marakah offers CranioSacral Therapy (CST), SomatoEmotional Release (SER), and trauma-informed therapeutic massage, as well as clinical specialties as wide-ranging as lymphatic drainage and Somatic Experiencing. Marakah helps clients tap into their own natural healing abilities.

CranioSacral Therapy is like a cleanse and a massage for your nervous system. SomatoEmotional Release is an advanced form of CST which uses deep listening to the physical cues of your nervous system in conjunction with dialoguing, to resolve trauma that has been held in your tissues. SER can support your therapy process and allow you to find resolution more completely, and with more ease.

Marakah loves working with people of all genders and cultural backgrounds who are ready to heal themselves. Each session is unique, determined by the goals that your own inner wisdom asks her to support. She is continually amazed and delighted by the creative solutions that clients’ systems develop…and the way the healing continues after clients leave her treatment room.

Her work has been informed by each client who’s been on her table, and by instructors and peers at the Upledger Institute, the Heartwood Institute, Northwestern Health Sciences University, Somatic Experiencing International, Klose Training, Healing from the Core, Minka Brooklyn, the Healing Hands Network, Reiki by Esther, and the Third Root Community Health Center. Marakah’s work is also informed by the lived experience of the many underpaid immigrant workers she has supported and schemed with, through decades of work in the labor movement.

Marakah is comfortable doing complex work in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and communicating basic concepts in French and Somali.

Marakah offers simple, accessible courses in Reiki for Self-Healing (Reiki I) and Reiki for Friends and Family (Reiki II), in Spanish or English.

Her favorite thing about all of this work is seeing everyday people learn to access their own inner healer.
