Lauren’s goal is to create a strengths-based, supportive environment, where folx can be their authentic selves. She aims to work together with the client to create goals, and work towards change in thoughts and behaviors.
Lauren believes that each person has a story and that story deserves to be told. Her goal is to allow a space for voices to be heard while helping others gain insight into their thoughts and behaviors, and increasing coping skills to move through the world with ease. Lauren strives to provide an environment that is supportive, open-minded, and strengths-based.
The majority of Lauren’s professional experience has been in the community working with folx who are experiencing homelessness. Throughout that work, she has had the opportunity to work with individuals experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and Bi-polar Disorder. She has also had the opportunity to work with couples, to increase communication and trust within their relationship. Each person and couple is unique, so her approach matches. She utilizes multiple modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness practices. She was recently trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
Lauren is working under the licensed supervision of Elizabeth (Zeb) Shreve, MSW, LICSW, while she pursues clinical licensure as a Social Worker.
