Kate McDonnell

Kate (she/they) specializes in short-course therapy for 6 to 9 months with highly sensitive people. They take a somatic (embodied) and transpersonal (spiritual) approach to working with clients, encouraging them to learn to be comfortable in their skin and in the unknown. They also use a strength-based approach to work with clients who have cultural trauma based on race, class, sexual orientation and gender identity, immigration status, disability status, chemical health history, relationship approaches such as poly and kink, and religious status. Kate is an inclusive therapist who loves to work with people from all walks of life, regardless of their views, beliefs, practices, or knowledge. She often has clients who she calls, “therapy refugees” who have been hurt by the system and the judgment of those in the system. The approach is to create a space where you can find your own truth and take responsibility for what is truly yours. They primarily use an embodied approach, using over 20 years of their study in somatics, but they also have training in Expressive Arts Therapy, are EMDRIA-trained in EMDR, and are a psychedelic-informed psychotherapist.
