Emily Hest
She/Her/Hers
Emily’s goal is to create a warm and collaborative therapeutic setting where clients can heal, grow, and explore. Her counseling style is holistic–drawing from person-centered, feminist, and emotion-focused theoretical orientations–and tailored to the specific needs and goals of the client. Using humor and compassion, she works with clients to identify their strengths and affirm their unique values, beliefs, and identity.
Emily’s clinical interests include working with adolescents and adult clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, or life transitions. She is also passionate about women’s mental health concerns throughout their lifespan, such as pregnancy, infertility, postpartum, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder.
Emily is currently pursuing her Master’s degree at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling within the Counselor Education program. She is a professional counseling intern working under the supervision of Dr. Keyur Desai, Psy.D., LP.
