In this continuing education session, participants will explore the innovative and evolving role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the field of mental health therapy. As technology continues to advance, AI has the potential to transform the way mental health professionals deliver care, but it also raises important ethical and practical considerations. This session will include a comprehensive examination of the use of AI in mental health therapy, encompassing both its promising applications and the ethical concerns surrounding its adoption.

Objectives:

  1. Identify the primary ethical considerations associated with the use of AI in therapy settings.
  2. Explain how AI technologies function in mental health, including their diagnostic and treatment support applications.
  3. Demonstrate the ability to critically assess the ethical implications of implementing AI tools in their therapy practice.
  4. Examine real-world case studies to analyze the successes and challenges of AI implementation, drawing conclusions about best practices and potential pitfalls.
  5. Formulate recommendations for ensuring the responsible and effective use of AI in mental health therapy, emphasizing client well-being and adherence to professional and legal standards.

This training will be virtual and recorded. It is approved for 2 CEUs by the following boards: Social Work, Psychology, MFT, and Behavioral Health and Therapy.
